چکیده

Abstract Funding Acknowledgements Type of funding sources: None. Background Myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) by 15O-H2O positron emission tomography (PET) has excellent diagnostic accuracy for detecting significant coronary stenoses and consequently revascularization in patients with angina no previous artery disease (CAD). However, arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation (AF) are thought to reduce myocardial globally thresholds indicating ischemic CAD therefore likely lower AF. Purpose To determine the ability PET MPI predict subsequent known AF angina. Methods We prospectively included 330 persistent or paroxysmal referred rest/stress prior possible angiography revascularization. 55% had previously documented (181 149 CAD), 41% at time (136 194 sinus rhythm (SR)). Thus, were divided into four groups (SR-noCAD, AF-noCAD, SR-CAD, AF-CAD) independent impact on blood flow (MBF). Primary outcome parameters hyperemic MBF within 3 months MPI. Results As expected, was significantly affected presence both [MBF (ml/g/min): 2.77 +/- 0.93 (SR-noCAD) vs. 2.10 (AF-noCAD) 2.22 (SR-CAD) 1.80 0.74 (AF-CAD), ANOVA p<0.001]. In total, 37 (50 vessels) subsequently revascularized. ROC-analysis vessel specific yielded following optimal cut-offs (ml/g/min) early revascularization: SR-noCAD: 2.03 (AUC 0.95, p<0.001); AF-noCAD: 1.16 0.79, SR-CAD: 1.45 0.77, AF-CAD: 1.28 0.88, p<0.001). Conclusion Hyperemic approximately 20 % regardless status. Despite this, overall high this single centre setup, although and/or decreases moderately.

Parametric images of myocardial viability using a single 15O-H2O PET/CT scan.

UNLABELLED Perfusable tissue index (PTI) is a marker of myocardial viability and requires acquisition of transmission, (15)O-CO, and (15)O-H(2)O scans. The aim of this study was to generate parametric PTI images from a (15)O-H(2)O PET/CT scan without an additional (15)O-CO scan. METHODS Data from 20 patients undergoing both (15)O-H(2)O and (15)O-CO scans were used, assessing correlation betwe...

Diagnosis of misery perfusion using noninvasive 15O-gas PET.

UNLABELLED To avoid arterial blood sampling and complicated analyses in 15O-gas PET studies, we evaluated a noninvasive technique using the count-based method for measuring asymmetric increases in oxygen extraction fraction (OEF) in cerebrovascular disease. METHODS Eighteen patients (mean age +/- SD, 61 +/- 16 y) with atherothrombotic large-cerebral-artery disease were studied for the measure...

Impact of anatomical and functional severity of coronary atherosclerotic plaques on the transmural perfusion gradient: a [15O]H2O PET study.

BACKGROUND Myocardial ischaemia occurs principally in the subendocardial layer, whereas conventional myocardial perfusion imaging provides no information on the transmural myocardial blood flow (MBF) distribution. Subendocardial perfusion measurements and quantification of the transmural perfusion gradient (TPG) could be more sensitive and specific for the detection of coronary artery disease (...

Parametric imaging of myocardial blood flow with 15O-water and PET using the basis function method.

UNLABELLED Regional myocardial blood flow (MBF) can be measured with 15O-water and PET using the 1-tissue-compartment model with perfusable tissue fraction, which provides an MBF value that is free from the partial-volume effect. Studies with 15O-water have several advantages, such as the ability to repeat a scan. However, because of the short scanning time and the small distribution volume of ...

Imaging of the appearance time of cerebral blood using [15O]H2O PET for the computation of correct CBF

BACKGROUND Quantification of cerebral blood flow (CBF) is important for the understanding of normal and pathologic brain physiology. Positron emission tomography (PET) with H215O (or C15O2) can quantify CBF and apply kinetic analyses, including autoradiography (ARG) and the basis function methods (BFM). These approaches, however, are sensitive to input function errors such as the appearance tim...
